Welcome to Transcer!
A brand new newsletter all about having the audacity to have cancer while transgender
Hi, I’m Ash.
Welcome to Transcer: the audacity to have cancer while trans
I didn’t expect to walk in for gender-affirming top surgery and walk out with breast cancer. But I did.
Since then, I’ve been figuring out what it means to be trans in cancer spaces and a cancer patient in trans spaces.
I’m not here to make cancer inspirational or to make transness tragic.
But I am here to bring a little light into dark places. To build community in a world that wants to erase us. To make connections where the system is giving dead ends.
Transcer is that space. Dispatches from doctors’ offices. Bathroom selfies, because the gender police want me to pee with your wives and daughters. Thirst traps disguised as PSAs. And commentary on what it means to be trans with cancer in Texas…equal parts survival guide and side-eye.
Subscribe! Since y’all are SO obsessed with us, maybe skip the fear-mongering clickbait and hear it straight from a trans person.

Yes yes yes!
